Electrolux and the GREEN SPIRIT concept
|
|
Over the last few years the preservation of our environment has become key. Reduced emissions and energy efficiency now play a key role in buying decisions.
Commercial kitchens have many heavy-duty appliances installed which are often running for long periods of time. Reducing emissions is of major importance in keeping the environment clean, and reducing operating costs at the same time.
As an Electrolux main agent we are committed to offering products which have a considered life-cycle, from manufacture right through to disposal. The Electrolux factories were certified to ISO 14001 over ten years ago. Products are RoHS free and over 95% can be recycled.
Electrolux have now created the GREEN SPIRIT product range, including only products which provide significant savings in the consumption of gas, electricity, water, detergent as well as reduction in CO2 and NoX emissions.
The products we offer consider the following aspects:
- Water saving
- Energy saving
- Low CO2 emissions
- Detergent savings

Wood burning stoves for central heating and cooking
|
|
As the focus rapidly shifts to carbon emissions and the cost of fuel, an obvious choice of heating is to install wood burning stoves.
Burning wood from a sustainable source means that no extra carbon-dioxide (carbon-neutral) is released into the atmosphere during combustion. The only carbon-dioxide released is that which the tree has absorbed during its life time.
Fossil fuels such as natural gas, lpg and oil have all been extracted from the ground, releasing extra carbon-dioxide and contributing to Global Warming.
If wood is sourced from a certified source, and monitored by the Forestry Stewardship Council, it can mean a very inexpensive and clean way of producing heat.
And they look great!

Reusing waste vegetable oil
|
|
Catering establishments buy, use and dispose of many hundreds of litres of food oil each year. It is costly and awkward to dispose of.
Food oil can be processed and recycled to run your vehicles and even generate a small amount of power for your restaurant, reducing your emissions further and your running costs.
Without any harmful products such as lye and methanol (used in producing Biodiesel), why not turn your waste oil back into a useable fuel?

Solar power for heating hot water
|
|
One of the cleanest and most efficient methods of producing energy, solar power has become a new area of interest for hotels and restaurants.
After the initial outlay costs, solar power offers a very cheap and workable solution to help boost water temperature and heating.
Modern solar power can offer you a viable alternative, with reliable and effective energy yields, even in our changeable UK climate.
